Thrive as a new graphic designer

Every designer has a place where everything starts, and for me, that was Thrive Life.

I started with they were still Shelf Reliance on their customer service team. When the oppertunity came up for a graphic designer on their team, I was at UVU learning what direction I wanted to take my career path. I was incredibly lucky to join the marketing team, I had so much to learn, and I was incredibly fortunate to have my mentor Brad. Who patiently taught me not just the technical side of design, but how to think like a designer. Those early lessons built the foundation that I still rely on today.

During my time at Thrive Life, I had the opportunity to work on a wide variety of projects. I designed product can labels, created social media graphics, developed flyers and marketing materials, and even helped with recipe and product photoshoots. Having exposure to so many different types of creative work early in my career taught me how to adapt my design style, collaborate with a team, and bring ideas to life across both print and digital media.

My experience with the customer service team meant that when designing for our large conventions, we knew exactly who it was for. Thrive had such an intimate relationship with our customers, their experience from start to finish of our events was top of mind.

Our focus was changing mindsets across the country from storing food for emergencies to saving money and keeping families healthy. The marketing team worked tirelessly to come up with new campaigns that would educate and simplify the average kitchen.

I’ll never forget the lovely people I worked along side with and every challenging project we proudly pushed through.
